Hyundai has launched a new range-topping model for the i30 range – the Hyundai i30 Premium – with most of Hyundai’s extras as standard. The latest Hyundai i30 is a very good car indeed, far removed from the cheap and cheerful i30s that went before, offering good looks, decent ride and handling, a comprehensive 5 year warranty and is bolted together as well as any other car in its sector. Mercedes is giving its new small car range a much more modern cabin. This first official photo inside the new 2012 Merc B-class reveals a cockpit with distinctive round air vents from the SLK and a heavily stylised dashboard. We've been to Mercedes' Italian design studio to sit inside the new B-class and can report it's a much slicker affair inside.
This year's CCS Senior Show provided another year of outstanding graduates while the automotive industry continues to retract due to the global financial crisis. Given all the negative news about auto bankruptcies and closures, it was refreshing to see such youthful, creative and challenging designs in a modern and hopeful environment. The projects on display ranged from militaristic Jeep off-road vehicles to a microvan for the ‘future family of two = single parent + only child'.
